Colorado River

The Colorado River originates up near Grand Lake, CO. It flows west to Glenwood springs where the Eagle River joins it just east of Glenwood canyon and the Roaring Fork joins it right in the heart of Glenwood Springs. It is a large freestone river with ample amounts of bug life which supply a healthly population of rainbow trout, brown trout, cutthroat trout, mountain white fish, and Common Carp.  The Colorado River is fishable all months of the year which allows the angler to see every single hatch from midges to stoneflies. This is a great river to catch a trophy trout of a lifetime. We have access from Grizzly Creek rest area down to Rifle, CO. From Denver it is about a 157 miles (2.5 hr) drive. Glenwood Springs is the closest town and there are many restaurants, hotels, and other accommodations while you are fishing with us. 

Eagle River

The Eagle River originates near the town of Minturn, CO. From there it travels west to meet up with the mighty Colorado River. This is another year round fishery and freestone fishery that has an abundant amount of insect life and also grows a large population of trout. This river is mainly a walk and wade fishery until the water gets upwards of 300 cubic feet per second. Once the water is high enough, it allows us to float one of the best streamer fisheries in the state. This is a fast paced river that offers many great holding areas for trout to spread out when the water warms. We have access from the town of Eagle, CO down to Gypsum, CO. From Denver, Eagle, CO is a 128 mile (2 hr) drive. 

South Boulder Creek

South Boulder Creek is located near the town of Rollinsville, CO. Most of it’s water comes from a pumping system from the Fraser River. Denver water pumps the water through Moffat tunnel east to where South Boulder Creek cuts its way to Gross Reservoir. We refer to it as the east fork of the Fraser River. It’s average flow is 300 CFS and has some of the most prolific hatches during the months of July-October. CO Fly Fishing has access to this premier private water consisting of nearly 5 miles. The river bed has been reconstructed to allow for a higher concetration of trout and larger trout for it’s size. If you are a beginner or expert, South Boulder Creek will surely get you hooked into fly fishing. Catching trout here is a guarantee and some of the prettiest sights in the state. This stretch of private water is 31 miles (1 hr) drive from Denver, CO. It is a very convenient location for those that are staying on the front range; Boulder, Denver, Ft. Collins, etc. 

Roaring Fork

The Roaring Fork River originates near the town of Aspen, CO. It flows west to join the Frying Pan River, and the Crystal River. The fork has a large concentration of rainbows, brown, and cutt-bows. The fork is known for spunky trout. Average fish size is 16″ but boy do they fight harder than their size and they are very acrobatic in the height of the summer. The Fork is designated a Gold Medal water stretch, which means it produces 60 pounds of trout per acre and at least twelve 14″ or larger trout per acre. This river is one of those must fish rivers.  Double digit number days are frequent on this river even for those beginner level anglers. It also offers some of the best dry fly fishing starting in July with Caddis, Mayflies, Stoneflies, and Midges all being present during the day. The Drake hatch is very sought after on this river. From Denver, the Roaring Fork is about 157 miles (2.5 hr) drive. Glenwood Springs is the closest town and there are many restaurants, hotels, and other accommodations while you are fishing with us.
